Poetry workshop: Gadbad Goatala

Gadbad Ghotala is a funny poem written by Safdar Hashmi. The workshop starts with this poem and bring out the fun with poetry - reading, tearing, creating, rejecting, dreaming, re-inventing, performing and making a huge mess! More gadbad and more ghotala! The workshop will be using works by Hashmi as well as other writers, so you must know how to read Hindi.

About the conductor: Shaili Sathyu is a teacher-artiste working in education and the arts, with a specific focus on children. She is the Artistic Director of Gillo, a company that works exclusively in Theatre for Young Audiences. She has directed plays like Barsoraam Dhadaake Se (2009), Suar Chala Space Ko (2010) and Kyun-Kyun Ladki (2011). Trained in Early Education, she works as a consultant with Akshara High School, focusing on curriculum development and innovative teaching-learning processes. She has conducted workshops for children and teachers, with themes ranging from the literary to the performing arts.
