Fellowships in the field of Culture

Ministry of Culture, India operates the Scheme for the Award of Senior/Junior Fellowships for undertaking research oriented projects in the fields of Performing, Literary and Plastic Arts, as also new areas related to Culture. Under the Scheme, 400 Fellowships (200 Senior Fellowships of the value of Rs. 20,000/- per month and 200 Junior Fellowships of the value of Rs. 10,000/- per month) are awarded every year.

Applications are invited from Indian Nationals for the award of Senior/Junior Fellowships to Outstanding Persons in the field of Culture for the year 2011-12. These Fellowships are awarded for undertaking research oriented projects.

Note: While both the academic research and performance related research are encouraged, the applicant should provide evidence of his/her capabilities in undertaking the project. It may be noted that these Fellowships are not intended for providing training, conducting workshops, seminars or documenting memoirs or writing autobiographies, fiction, etc. It is not a monthly remuneration/stipend or pension to the artistes, but a project-based award.
